The fire ban and OHV restrictions have been lifted for our region.
With rain and cool temperatures these past few days – the wildfire danger level has been downgraded to low in the Fort McMurray Forest Area.
The provincial and municipal bans had been in place since mid-May.
In that time, five people in Fort McMurray had been ticketed for riding OHV’s and having an outdoor fire.
Meanwhile, for open fires, including recreational fire pits – a permit is still required from Regional Emergency Services.
