Construction is now underway on the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre’s new Jeremy Snook Memorial Palliative Suites’.
Snook lost his battle to brain cancer in 2013 – since then his parents, Brian and Gail, hosted multiple events which helped the hospital reach their $1.7 million goal.
The unit, on the third floor of the NLRHC, will consist of three suites which include a patient room, a family room, and a shared bathroom. There will also be a secure family lounge to allow a quiet refuge.
Meanwhile, the Health Foundation also received three $250,000 donations from RE/MAX Fort McMurray, Imperial Oil, and Dan and Janet Fouts who will have each of the suites named after them.
Construction is expected to be completed in around 10 months.
