Cancer survivors and people suffering from the disease are being provided a safe space to share their thoughts.
Sisters in Cancer, a new support group, will meet for the first time on Wednesday.
It’s being put on by Sundas Shamshad, a cancer survivor of her own, who was diagnosed two years ago Thursday.
People who’ve been impacted by cancer can attend and share their experience of dealing with the disease.
The support group will meet at the Eagle Ridge YMCA at 6:15 p.m.
Meanwhile, the community has taken steps to help people suffering from cancer. On Sunday, around 470 participants raised nearly $76,000 at the CIBC Run for the Cure.
