Multiple events in the community are being postponed or cancelled in an effort to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus.
Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta Chief Medical Officer of Health, announced yesterday that all events with more than 250 people in attendance are to be cancelled.

All bookings at the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre including fitness classes, ASDC training, and meetings have been cancelled.
The municipality is also postponing their winter maintenance engagement sessions, Senior Luncheons in Janvier and Conklin, and sessions for their downtown revitalization incentive pilot project.
CMHA’s Recovery College Wood Buffalo in-person support is suspended but telephone and email support remain available.

Meanwhile, Landmark Cinemas has reduced their maximum guests per auditorium by half and have blacked out every other love seat recliner or conventional chair to dramatically increase personal space.
