RMWB Closing All Municipal Offices, Key Services To Continue Being Provided

The RMWB is closing all municipal offices to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.

Residents can still access online services, while essential services will continue to be provided.

“At this time, we are taking the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and protect our community,” said CAO Annette Antoniak, RMWB CAO.

“These steps align with the advice and recommendations made by public health officials and the federal government and we’re committed to doing our part to keep residents and employees safe, while continuing to provide essential services.”

Garbage collection will continue, however, residents are asked to avoid separating recyclables as everything must be bagged.

Starting on March 18, the public drop off area at the landfill will be closed.

Recycling centres in Fort McMurray will be closed, however, the rural garbage and recycling centres will remain open.

Meanwhile, transit will continue to be offered with crews increasing all cleaning and preventive measures.

As the COVID-19 situation moves forward, these services could see some changes.
