There are two more deaths in Alberta from COVID-19.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, announced on Thursday the additional deaths which brings the provincial total to 13.

Both were elderly men – one in his 90’s at the McKenzie Towne facility in Calgary and the other in his 80’s from the Manoir Du Lac Retirement Home in McLennan.

The province is only releasing the exact community for any death if they were a resident in a continuing care facility.

Meanwhile, there are 97 new cases across the province which now brings Alberta’s total to 968.

None are in Wood Buffalo, keeping it at three confirmed cases across the RMWB, all of which are in Fort McMurray.

The north zone, which includes the region, now has 55 cases.

The others are in High Prairie, Slave Lake, Barrhead, Bonnyville, Cold Lake, Grande Prairie, Jasper, Hinton, Westlock, Peace River, High Level, Valleyview, and Falher.

Also, 108 cases are believed to be from community transmission, while 174 individuals no longer have the virus.
