Fort McMurray is seeing no new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours for the first time in over a month.
The province announced on Tuesday 150 new cases across Alberta, none of which were in Wood Buffalo.
This raises the provincial total to 16,889 with 1,565 currently active.
The last time Fort McMurray didn’t see any new cases was on August 19. The community also saw one additional recovery which lowers the active total to 43.
The rural areas didn’t see any new changes, keeping the total of active cases at four.
In total, 242 individuals across the RMWB – 181 in Fort McMurray and 61 in the rural areas – have recovered.
They are among the 15,066 across the province. This represents over 89 per cent of reported cases.
Meanwhile, there were two new deaths from COVID-19 in Alberta over the past 24 hours – raising the total to 258.
One of the deaths has been in Fort McMurray.
