One person is dead after a helicopter crash near Fort Chipewyan Monday afternoon.
Trenton Search and Rescue and RCMP were first called to the scene on Lake Athabasca at 4:30 PM Monday, with crews arriving at 6:30 PM.
RCMP and the Transportation Safety Board have both confirmed the crash took place at around 3:00 PM.
The pilot of the helicopter was the only person on board.
The Transportation Safety Board has taken over this investigation. We will share more details on this incident when they become available.
