Wood Buffalo RCMP were able to make a large drug bust during a traffic stop.
On Monday evening, just after 10:30 PM, officers spotted a stolen vehicle traveling north on Highway 63 just south of Fort McMurray. The spike belt was deployed to stop the vehicle after some initial difficulty in getting the suspect vehicle to come to a stop.
The driver and passenger were arrested without further incident. During a vehicle search, police located roughly 100 grams of cocaine and $2,750 in cash.
As a result, Taylor Wiseman of Lloydminster and Jewel Fantini of Lethbridge have both been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Both Wiseman and Fantini were both found to be at large. Wiseman was at large on a Conditional Sentence Order while Fantini was at large on several Provincial warrants for her arrest. Wiseman appears in court later this month while Fantini will appear in court in mid-April.
