After hearing about how Fort McMurray is supposed to play a part in helping Alberta double its tourism dollars in the next decade yesterday, it’s time to look into how the heck that’s supposed to happen.
Like, don’t get me wrong, this is a pretty great place! There’s a reason people come up for a year and stay a lifetime, but not everyone gets that, so we need ways to get people up here!

-Maybe we build a crazy number of casinos. It made people want to drive and fly to the middle of a dessert in Nevada, maybe it works for us.

-Let’s build the new rink that we’ve been talking about for decades now. Instead of just shooting for a WHL team, let’s bring in the NHL to Fort Mac! I hear there’s a team in Arizona on the move…

-And at this point after hosting every other form of winter and summer games, hook us up with the Olympics, we can do it…
