St. Paul RCMP officer facing child pornography charges

An RCMP officer based in St. Paul, Alberta, is facing child exploitation charges after an investigation from Alberta’s Law Enforcement Response Team.

The investigation began in November when the suspect allegedly uploaded two videos to the social media platform Snapchat that depicted child sexual exploitation.

The identity of the suspect was learned in late April, and Internet Child Exploitation investigators were able to make the arrest on Thursday.

33-year-old Evan Peacock has been charged with two counts each of possessing, distributing, and accessing child pornography. He has been a three-year member of the RCMP and has been suspended with pay.

Peacock has been released on a number of court conditions. His next court appearance will be May 23rd.
