Two Fort McMurray residents facing charges after downtown armed robbery

Two suspects are facing armed robbery charges after an incident in downtown Fort McMurray last week.

Wood Buffalo RCMP were called to the Shoppers Drug Mart on the 8600 block of Franklin Avenue on Wednesday night at around 7:30.

It is believed an employee approached two suspected shoplifters. When confronted, they waved an edged weapon before leaving the scene.

A short time later, RCMP Police Dog Services were able to locate the suspects at a nearby residence on Birch Road.

38-year-old Malcolm Bubar and 37-year-old Melinda Mills are both charged with armed robbery. Both will appear in court in July.
