Wildfire Risk Increased to High in Fort McMurray

Alberta Wildfire conducts Hazard Reduction Burn

The wildfire danger has been increased to high in the Fort McMurray Forest Area, as well as nearby Lac La Biche Forest Area. This area includes southern parts of Wood Buffalo, including Conklin and Janvier.

With hot, dry, and windy conditions expected this weekend, fire officials are urging extra caution. If you’re having a campfire or doing any burning, be careful and remember, fire permits are required for all burning except campfires.
