Drama off the ice for the Fort McMurray Oil Barons: their Annual General Meeting, slated for June 2nd, has been cancelled until further notice. That AGM was set to elect a new board of directors and tackle several key agenda items. Harvard Media has learned that there is some major sponsor backlash over the team’s leadership and direction. More than a dozen local businesses have pulled their support, demanding a new, locally appointed board before they’ll return. At this point, there’s no word on any new date for the AGM.
