The Alberta RCMP is doubling down on its fight against drug-related crime, especially fentanyl, through its Data 2 Action strategy. Known as D2A, the program uses intelligence to guide prevention and enforcement, focusing on community safety and managing repeat offenders. Earlier this month, RCMP officials met with police, health, and government partners to coordinate a stronger response to illegal drugs. Part of the plan includes deploying Community Response Teams that support local police and address the root causes of crime. Superintendent Mike McCauley says collaboration is key to tackling the opioid crisis and keeping Alberta communities safe.
