Toyota Supra, Chevy Camaro win top honours at Fort McMurray car show
FORT MCMURRAY, AB. — A gleaming 2021 Toyota Supra and a restored 1969 Chevrolet Camaro drove away with top honours at this weekend’s Wheels and Wings car show, organizers announced Monday.
The annual event, held at Fort McMurray Airport’s north terminal, attracted record crowds Saturday as enthusiasts admired hundreds of vehicles ranging from classic muscle cars to custom builds. New this year was an expanded aviation display featuring helicopter flyovers and vintage aircraft.
“Seeing families connect over these incredible machines while supporting our first responders is what makes this special,” said Lorna Ash, executive director of the Local HERO Foundation, which benefits from the event.
Other notable entries included a 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air and 1963 Mercury Comet convertible. The NAPA Auto Parts-sponsored show raised funds for the foundation’s airborne emergency services.
Organizers confirmed next year’s event will roll into town July 18, 2026.
