RMWB seeks public input on 10-year safety and well-being plan
FORT MCMURRAY, AB. — The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is developing a 10-year Safety and Social Well-Being Strategy and is asking residents, Indigenous partners, and service providers to help shape the plan.
The strategy will outline long-term regional goals and community priorities aimed at improving access to services, enhancing safety, and supporting residents at all stages of life.
“Safety and social well-being are the foundation of a strong community,” said Toni Elliott, acting director of community services. “This strategy is about planning intentionally for the future, making the most of our shared resources and ensuring the right supports are in place for community members across the region.”
Public engagement is underway through online surveys, polls, and local outreach. Rural residents can also complete paper surveys at municipal offices. The municipality says the plan will focus on better access to supports such as recreation, transportation, youth and senior services, and community programs.
