Murder suspect arrested, after Canada Wide Warrant was issued.

FORT MCMURRAY–The Wood Buffalo RCMP have announced they have located, and arrested a suspect in a murder case dating back to last year.

29 year old Victoria Sheila Elizabeth Hilliard has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of 42-year-old Mark O’Keefe on Dec. 12, 2023.

Police say officers were first called that morning at 10:10 a.m. to Parsons Access Road near the Highway 63 turnoff, where they found O’Keefe dead under what they described as suspicious circumstances. Shortly afterward, they were dispatched to a vehicle fire on Tower Road in Fort McMurray.

Investigators believe the two incidents may be connected, and the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit later took over the case.

Yesterday a warrant was issued for Hilliard’s arrest.  Police announced this morning she had been arrested, but didn’t say where that took place.
