FORT McMURRAY, AB — Advance voting begins Thursday in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, giving residents a chance to cast their ballots ahead of the Oct. 20 municipal and school board elections.
Ward 1 voters can head to SMS Equipment Place on Oct. 3 and 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Additional advance dates at the same location run Oct. 7 to 10 and Oct. 14 to 17. Other Fort McMurray sites include the Syncrude Athletic Park Clubhouse and the Oil Sands Discovery Centre on select days.
Ward 2 residents can vote early Oct. 15 and 16 at Mamawi Hall in Fort Chipewyan or the Fort McKay Community Centre. No advance dates are scheduled in Fort Fitzgerald.
Ward 3 advance voting is set for Oct. 15 and 16 at Vista Ridge in Saprae Creek Estates. Ward 4 residents can vote those same dates at the Anzac Recreation Centre, the Conklin Multiplex or the Janvier Municipal Office.
Election day is Oct. 20, when polls will be open across all wards in the municipality.
