FORT MCMURRAY, Alta. — Wood Buffalo RCMP are asking the public for help identifying a vehicle involved in a hit and run that happened in downtown Fort McMurray in late July.
Police say that around 9:50 p.m. on July 29, officers received a report of a speeding vehicle heading east on Hospital Street that crashed into a vehicle stopped at a red light at Franklin Avenue. The suspect vehicle then fled the scene by driving across the median and heading west on Hospital Street toward Crescent Heights.

Three people were in the stopped vehicle at the time, but no serious injuries were reported.
The suspect vehicle is described as a grey 2010 to 2014 Kia Sportage with likely front-end damage. Investigators are asking anyone with information, surveillance, or dashcam footage from the area between 9:30 and 10 p.m. to come forward.
