Mark Carney at a Policy Exchange summer party, August 2015
Prime Minister Mark Carney delivered a message to Canadians last night, outlining an ambitious goal to double Canada’s non-U.S. exports over the next decade.
Speaking to a crowd of students at the University of Ottawa, Carney said the plan could generate an additional $300 billion in trade.
He noted that the core of his government’s upcoming November budget will focus on driving unprecedented investments in Canada over the next five years.
The budget is also expected to include a climate competitiveness strategy, a new immigration plan, and an international talent attraction initiative.
