EDMONTON—The Alberta RCMP has recognized dozens of officers, civilian employees and community members for long service, bravery and exceptional contributions in two recent ceremonies held in Didsbury and Devon.
The events took place on October 8 and October 22, honouring individuals who exemplify the RCMP’s core values of integrity, professionalism, respect and compassion. In total, 53 police officers, six civilian member employees, 11 public service employees and two citizens received awards.
Honours included Long Service Awards for members with 20, 25, 30 and 35 years of service, as well as Commanding Officer Commendations for outstanding achievements and acts of bravery. Letters and Certificates of Appreciation were also presented to recognize exceptional contributions from both RCMP members and civilians.
Other honours included Special Service Medals for members who served under exceptional circumstances during an expedition to Ukraine, the British Columbia Police Honours Valour Award for acts of exceptional courage, the Jean Bonneau Fitness Award for contributions to health and fitness, and the Chaplain of the Year Award for exceptional spiritual support to staff.
Deputy Commissioner Trevor Daroux, the Commanding Officer of the Alberta RCMP, said the ceremonies highlight the dedication and compassion of those who serve, calling it a privilege to work alongside such passionate and committed people.
