A massive industrial load will travel from south Edmonton to Fort McMurray between November 2nd and 8th.

Nov. 2 (Sunday night): Departs Edmonton around 11 p.m., heading east on Highway 14 to Vegreville.

Nov. 3–4: Moves north through Two Hills, St. Paul, and Radway.

Nov. 5–6: Travels north on Highway 63, reaching about 35 km south of Fort McMurray.

Nov. 7–8 (early morning): Final stretch into Fort McMurray, using ramps and counterflow lanes before arriving at its destination site.The load is a de-methanizer pressure vessel, over 100 metres long and weighing more than half a million kilograms. It’ll move slow — maxing out around 50 kilometres an hour — with full-width escorts and traffic control in place.
Drivers can expect lane closures, counterflow traffic, and occasional rolling stops as it heads north toward Fort McMurray.
