(Fort Chipewyan, Alberta) – RCMP are investigating a second firearms-related incident in just a few days, after damage was reported to a home and several vehicles early Tuesday morning.
According to Royal Canadian Mounted Police, officers responded to a 911 call at approximately 4:11 a.m. for reports of possible gunfire near the community’s fire department. Patrols in the area led police to a residence on Mercredi Street, where officers observed damage consistent with a firearm.
Several vehicles in the area were also damaged. Police confirm no injuries were reported, and all occupants were unharmed.
This marks the second gunfire-related call in Fort Chipewyan within a matter of days. On Sunday, December 21, RCMP responded to reports of gunfire near a home on Delta Drive, where a residence sustained major property damage. That incident was also believed to be targeted, and witnesses reported seeing a black SUV leaving the area.
In both cases, RCMP have stated there is no ongoing risk to the public, and the investigations remain active.
Police are asking residents to review any home surveillance, doorbell cameras, or dashcam footage that may have captured suspicious activity around the times of either incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Fort Chipewyan RCMP or provide tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
No arrests have been announced, and no further details have been released at this time.
