EDMONTON — The Canadian Council for Indigenous Business has created a new Indigenous Business of the Year Award for 2025, recognizing companies whose work supports the economic, social and cultural well being of Indigenous communities.
David Bouchier and Nicole Bourke Bouchier were named the inaugural recipients for their leadership of The Bouchier Group, the council said.
The new award honours an Indigenous owned business whose achievements extend beyond financial success to community impact and cultural leadership.
The council said selecting first time recipients carried special significance, recognizing purpose, people and community alongside business performance.
In a statement, the organization said the award reflects the values demonstrated by the Bouchiers through their commitment to community and to the people who drive their operations.
It said The Bouchier Group’s approach to business is grounded in culture, guided by community priorities and built through Indigenous leadership and participation.
