ALERT Seizure, October 28, 2025
FORT MCMURRAY–Wood Buffalo RCMP say a months-long drug trafficking investigation has led to a significant seizure in Fort McMurray’s Timberlea area.
Police began the investigation in May 2025 and executed a search warrant on November 28 at a home on Rainbow Creek Drive. Officers arrested one man without incident.
During the search, RCMP seized 97.3 grams of suspected cocaine, drug paraphernalia, more than $6,000 in Canadian currency, $511 in U.S. currency, over $50,000 in Libyan currency, and 3,780 illegal unstamped cigarettes.
One Fort McMurray resident is facing multiple charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime. He was released and is scheduled to appear in court on February 10.
Police say a second suspect from Edmonton is also facing charges, and a provincial warrant has been issued for his arrest.
