No new cases of COVID-19 are popping up in Fort McMurray.
Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer, announced on Friday 22 new cases across the province – raising the total to 6,977.
Two cases remain active in Fort McMurray, while none are active in the rural areas.
Twenty-four individuals across the region, 21 in Fort McMurray and three in the rural areas, have recovered from the virus.
They are among the 6,218 who’ve recovered across the province. This represents over 89 per cent of the reported cases.
No new deaths are being reported in the last 24 hours – keeping Alberta’s death toll at 143.
None of these deaths have been in the RMWB.
As for the two oilsands outbreaks, the CNRL Horizon outbreak is being declared over at just five cases, all recovered, while 106 of 110 cases linked to Imperial Oil have recovered as of Thursday.
Meanwhile, Hinshaw says anybody in the province can now get tested for COVID-19, with or without symptoms.
People can sign up online to get tested starting next week.
