Event features fire safety trailer, rescue challenge, mascots and tours
FORT McMURRAY, AB. — Regional Emergency Services is inviting the public to its annual community pancake breakfast, set for Sept. 6 at Fire Hall 1 in Fort McMurray.
The free event runs from 9 a.m. until noon and will feature rescue demonstrations, tours of fire trucks and other emergency equipment, and an interactive fire safety trailer.
Children can meet Sparky the fire dog and other mascots, try out a fire hose, and even take part in a fire rescue challenge.
Parking will be available at Fort McMurray Composite High School, Keyano College and Heritage Village, with free shuttle service provided to the fire hall.
The breakfast brings together partners including the RCMP, RMWB Bylaw Services, Phoenix Heli-Flight, Fort McMurray Search and Rescue Society, the Salvation Army, Alberta Agriculture and Forestry and others.
