Fort McMurray, AB – Keyano College is celebrating the academic excellence of 16 student-athletes who have been named National Scholar Award recipients by the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCCAA) for the 2024-25 academic year.
The award is given to student-athletes who achieve honours standing while competing in CCAA intercollegiate athletics. “Balancing the demands of academics and athletics is no small feat,” said Keyano Huskies General Manager Jeremy Wielenga. “This award recognizes their outstanding achievement in both areas.”
Among the recipients, volleyball alumni Anderson King and Karlene Kaminski earned the distinction for a third consecutive year. King also received the CCAA Academic All-Canadian honour, recognizing his exceptional academic and athletic performance.
Returning honourees include Nicole Gauvin, Rofyda Khaleel, Khloe Webber, and Gage Weinrauch, each earning their second-straight National Scholar Award.
