(Fort McMurray, AB) – Highway 63 was closed in both directions this morning following a serious collision between a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle.
Just after 5 a.m., Syncrude Emergency Services, Regional Emergency Services, and the Wood Buffalo RCMP were called to the scene just north of the Syncrude Split, near the Mildred Lake North Gate.
Traffic began alternating through the area shortly after 8 a.m., and the road was fully reopened around 2 p.m. Investigators and cleanup crews have since cleared the scene.
No official update has been released regarding injuries to those involved in the crash.
