Toronto sports fans, get ready for some scheduling shuffle! With the Blue Jays back in the spotlight and heading to the Los Angeles Dodgers for the World Series, the Maple Leafs and Raptors have stepped up to avoid competing for your attention.
Here’s what’s happening:
-
The Maple Leafs are adjusting three of their upcoming games to earlier start times:
-
Oct 24 at Buffalo: from 7:30 p.m. → 7:00 p.m.
-
Oct 25 vs. Buffalo: from 7:00 p.m. → 5:00 p.m.
-
Oct 28 vs. Calgary: from 6:15 p.m. → 6:00 p.m.
-
-
The Raptors have also moved two home game start times to 6:30 p.m.:
-
Oct 24 vs. Milwaukee Bucks
- Oct 29 vs. Houston Rockets
Bonus: Following the Raptors’ games, the arena will show Games 1 and 2 of the World Series on the videoboard, giving fans double the action in one outing.
-
MLSE (that’s the parent company behind both the Leafs and Raptors) noted that these changes show the city’s commitment to celebrating a major sports moment. “Toronto sports fans are undeniably some of the most passionate … we are proud to have the city’s teams come together,” said MLSE president & CEO Keith Pelley.
