The Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA) says it’s consulting with lawyers as it prepares for potential back-to-work legislation from the province.
Premier Danielle Smith said last week that the union should fully expect an order once the legislature resumes, which happens today.
The ATA believes the legislation could be introduced as early as next week, as talks with the government continue to stall over wages, classroom sizes, and working conditions.
