FORT MC MURRAY–Today was the day the payments from the provincial government were to go out to parents, to help cover expenses during the three week school shutdown.
Some parents got the payment this morning, and some did not.
Harvard Media News reached out to the provincial government for answers, and this is what we found out.
There are so many e-transfer payments, they have been organized into batches and will go out throughout the day. So, just because you didn’t get it this morning, doesn’t mean it won’t come in some time today.
The government also says there are issues with applicants having difficulty accessing the “reference number” of their application. We have been told by the Ministry of Education the government is working to address that problem.
This is what we were told:
- Parent payment e-Transfers were initiated starting this morning. Due to the volume of payment, these will be delivered to parents throughout the day.
- Some parents have been experiencing challenges with locating the Application Reference Number. We are working to troubleshoot access issues related finding the Application Reference Number.
- The security question password can be found on an individuals YourAlberta Parent Payment Program application under application summary
- The Application Reference Number will be in the form of XXXX-XXXX and must be entered as shown, including dashes and is case sensitive. Do not copy and paste.
- Some parents have exceeded their number of attempts to access their e-Transfer, resulting in cancelled e-Transfers. These e-Transfers can be reissued once the appropriate validation has been complete to mitigate fraudulent claims.
- For parents entitled to additional funding but did not receive it yet, they will be included in a future payment run.
