FORT MCMURRAY— Elders and residents aged 65 and older are invited to share in food and festive cheer at the annual Council’s Holiday Luncheon on Dec. 4 at SMS Equipment Place in MacDonald Island Park.
Registration opens Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. at rmwb.ca/luncheon or through the municipal Pulse line.
Mayor Sandy Bowman said the luncheon is a highlight of the year for council and the community.
“This is truly one of the best events of the year because it allows us to gather and express our appreciation to those around us that helped build this region,” Bowman said. “We look forward to seeing everyone and we again thank all the people responsible for making the Holiday Luncheon an important and special experience.”
The luncheon runs from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., with doors opening at 11 a.m.
Free transportation is available for residents from Anzac, Conklin, Fort McKay, Gregoire Lake Estates and Janvier. Attendees needing transportation are asked to indicate that when registering.
For registration assistance, residents can contact a local municipal rural office or call Pulse at 780-743-7000 or toll-free at 1-800-973-9663.
