Scientists with the company Loyal are testing drugs that could help dogs live longer, healthier lives. One promising treatment, LOY-002, is in trials for senior dogs to slow aging and boost vitality. Another, rapamycin, has shown signs of improving heart and brain health — and might even extend the lifespan of your dog – for between $1-$3 a day.
The Dog Aging Project is leading much of this research, studying thousands of dogs to understand how to delay age-related decline.
⚠️ None of these drugs are approved yet, and long-term effects are still unknown — but the idea of helping pets age gracefully is closer than ever.
