FORT McMURRAY — Transit riders will see extended hours and route changes later this month as the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo adjusts service based on ridership patterns and public feedback.
The municipality said the updates take effect Nov. 28. Transit On Demand service will run until 11 p.m., with bookings required before 10:30 p.m. Route 6 will operate until 11:30 p.m. and will no longer serve Abraham’s Landing, which will shift into the Timberlea On Demand zone. Route 4 will be redirected along Manning Avenue to add stops at Canadian Tire and Walmart.
The RMWB said it is also making internal operational adjustments aimed at improving the rider experience. Updated schedules and maps are available online.
Residents can learn more at upcoming in person engagements, including an open house at Holy Trinity Catholic High School on Dec. 3 and a pop up information table at MacDonald Island Park on Dec. 5. A rider feedback survey remains open until Dec. 15.
