LAC LA BICHE, Alta. — A 44-year-old man from Fort McMurray has been arrested following an armed robbery investigation in Lac La Biche.
According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, officers responded to a firearm-related call on December 24, 2025, after a rural resident reported an unknown man on his property. Police say the suspect pointed a long gun at the homeowner, ordered him to leave, and stole a vehicle.
The stolen vehicle was located on January 4, and the driver was arrested. Police later executed a search warrant at a local motel on January 5, with nearby schools placed on hold and secure as a precaution. The suspect was arrested without incident.
The 44-year-old remains in custody and faces multiple charges, including break and enter, pointing a firearm, and robbery. He is scheduled to appear in Lac La Biche Provincial Court on January 12, 2026.
