FORT MCMURRAY–The City’s large-scale snow removal operation continues today, with Subzones 3 and 4 now active. Residents in those areas are being reminded that on-street parking is restricted from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. to give crews the space they need to clear heavy snow buildup.
City officials say all vehicles must be removed from the street during those hours. When cars are left parked, plows can’t get through—and if too many vehicles are blocking access, crews may be forced to skip that street altogether and move on to locations where work can proceed.
Drivers who don’t follow the rules could face fines, and vehicles that remain parked during the ban may also be towed.
The city encourages residents to check the snow-zone map and stay updated on which areas are next in the cleanup schedule.
