FORT McMURRAY — Wood Buffalo RCMP are still looking for a man accused of wielding a sword during a road rage incident earlier this week in Fort McMurray.
Police say officers were called around 9:12 a.m. on Feb. 18 after a victim reported being chased and confronted with a weapon in the Abasand area. Investigators say the victim alleged the suspect had followed them from Timberlea before exiting a vehicle and approaching while carrying a sword.
RCMP say the victim was able to get to safety and no injuries were reported. The suspect left the area before officers arrived.
Police say the suspect was driving a 2002 light brown Nissan Pathfinder. He is described as a Caucasian man with a thin build, about five foot 10 and approximately 40 years old.
RCMP say video surveillance has been obtained and the investigation is ongoing. Officers are asking anyone with information about the suspect or vehicle to contact Wood Buffalo RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
