Justin Timberlake has filed a legal petition to stop the release of police body‑camera footage from his drunk driving arrest in Sag Harbor, New York, in June 2024. His attorneys argue that making the video public would invade his privacy and cause “severe and irreparable harm” to his personal and professional reputation. According to court documents, the footage includes moments from the traffic stop, field sobriety tests, and his time in police custody. The petition was filed in Suffolk County Supreme Court after media and others requested the video under New York’s Freedom of Information Law. Timberlake had previously pleaded guilty to a lesser impaired driving charge, resulting in fines, community service and a 90‑day license suspension as part of a plea deal. His lawyers are asking the court to block or heavily redact the footage before any release.
