Fish and Wildlife Lac La Biche event
LAC LA BICHE, Alta. — Alberta fish and wildlife officers took part in a women-focused ice fishing event earlier this month aimed at promoting outdoor skills and conservation awareness.
The fifth annual Ladies on Ice Fishing Adventure, organized by Lisa Roper Outdoors, drew participants to Lac La Biche, a popular destination for anglers from the Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo region.
Officials say the sold-out event combined outdoor recreation with education, as officers shared information on ethical and sustainable fishing practices.
They also highlighted career opportunities in conservation law enforcement.
Despite cold and windy conditions, organizers say the event fostered a strong sense of community and encouraged participants to build confidence and connection through outdoor experiences.
