FORT McMURRAY — Fort McMurray International Airport is reporting record performance in a North American benchmarking program, with top scores in key service areas.
The airport says it achieved its highest-ever results in the AirportNEXT assessment, particularly in terminal experience, transportation access and technology services.
Airport officials say the results place YMM among the top-performing airports on the continent in those categories.
AirportNEXT evaluates airports based on two main areas: infrastructure and facilities, and stakeholder alignment. The assessment draws on feedback from 16 key stakeholders and includes a broader framework of 49 evaluation criteria, covering areas such as security, border services and technology.
The terminal category measures the quality of airport infrastructure and facilities, while transportation access focuses on connectivity and ease of getting to and from the airport using various modes of transport.
Airport officials say the results reflect ongoing efforts to improve the passenger experience and strengthen operations.
They also credited staff and community feedback for helping guide improvements and shaping future planning.
