FORT McMURRAY — A popular viewing space at Fort McMurray International Airport has been refreshed with new interactive features aimed at enhancing the visitor experience.
The Fort McMurray Airport Authority says the observation area on Level 3 of the terminal now includes a new wall display highlighting the Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo region, along with a motion-controlled gaming system designed for visitors of all ages.
The space, which overlooks the airfield, has long been a gathering point for travellers and residents watching aircraft arrivals and departures.
Airport officials say the new interactive system allows users to take part in aviation-themed activities, including a virtual flight over the region and hands-on experiences related to airport operations.
President and CEO Denean Robinson said the updates are intended to create a more engaging and memorable environment while showcasing the community.
The observation area remains open to the public and is also available for community use, with non-profit organizations able to book the space at no cost through the airport’s community investment program.
The Fort McMurray Airport Authority says the airport continues to serve as a key transportation hub and economic driver in the region, supporting hundreds of jobs and local businesses.
