Cruz FM Serves on McHappy Day
FORT McMURRAY — McDonald’s restaurants in Fort McMurray say this year’s McHappy Day campaign raised more than $26,000 for charities supporting children and families in the region and northern Alberta.
In a thank-you letter sent to 100.5 Cruz FM, McDonald’s Fort McMurray owner-operator Moe Awais credited the local radio station and community supporters for helping make the 32nd annual McHappy Day campaign “an outstanding success.”
Funds raised during the event will support Ronald McDonald House Edmonton, the Salvation Army and the Northern Lights Health Foundation.
McHappy Day is a national fundraising campaign held annually at McDonald’s restaurants across Canada, with proceeds supporting families with sick or injured children and other local charitable organizations.
Awais said McDonald’s Canada has supported Ronald McDonald House charities for 45 years.
The Fort McMurray campaign included support from local businesses, volunteers, residents and media partners including 100.5 Cruz FM, which helped promote the fundraising effort throughout the community.
McHappy Day events are held annually at participating McDonald’s locations across Canada.
