FORT McMURRAY — Seniors and Elders from across the Wood Buffalo region are being invited to gather for the municipality’s annual Seniors’ Week Luncheon next month.
Mayor and council will host the event June 1 at the Grand Ballroom inside SMS Equipment Place at MacDonald Island Park.
The luncheon runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with doors opening at 11 a.m.
Municipal officials say the event marks the beginning of Seniors’ Week celebrations and recognizes the contributions seniors and Elders make throughout the region.
Registration opens May 11 and can be completed online, through local rural municipal offices or by contacting Pulse.
The municipality says there is no registration deadline.
Free transportation will also be available for many rural residents attending from communities including Anzac, Conklin, Fort McKay, Gregoire Lake Estates and Janvier.
Attendees requiring transportation are being asked to request it during registration.
Seniors’ Week runs from June 1 through June 7 and includes activities and events across the region.
