With warmer weather finally arriving in the region, the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is helping residents stay cool this summer as spray parks begin opening across the community.
Most spray parks officially opened May 15 and are now operating daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Parks crews have been preparing the sites ahead of the summer season to make sure families can safely enjoy them all season long.
Residents can cool off at several spray parks across the region including Borealis, J. Howard Pew, Frank LaCroix, Parsons Creek North, KP Wong at Syncrude Athletic Park, kiyām, and Grayling Terrace.
A couple of spray parks are still undergoing upgrades. Wood Buffalo Spray Park is expected to reopen later this month, while Lakewood Spray Park will remain closed for the 2026 season as the splash pad is replaced.
Residents can check the status of parks and outdoor spaces anytime using the Parks Map at rmwb.ca/parks.
