The Fort McMurray Oil Barons have announced a leadership change, welcoming back Tom Keca as head coach and general manager.
Keca returns to the club after previously leading the team from 2015 to 2019, bringing decades of experience as both a player and coach. During his earlier tenure, he posted a strong record and became a well-known figure in the community. Team officials say his return reflects a focus on building a competitive roster and strengthening local connections.
The MOB announced last week that Sam Klassen decided to not return to the team for his third season, saying he was prioritizing his family and that he would be stepping away from coaching.
Joining the coaching staff for the season is former team captain Brandon Ralph, who steps into an assistant coach role after working as a scout. The organization says his experience and knowledge of the team culture will support player development.
Keca says the goal is to build a championship-caliber team that fans can be proud of.
