FORT McMURRAY — Wood Buffalo RCMP are asking for the public’s help as they investigate the theft of a front-end loader stolen from downtown Fort McMurray.
Police say officers responded on May 7 to a report of a stolen John Deere loader that had been parked in an alley behind the 9900 block of Franklin Avenue.
According to RCMP, surveillance footage obtained during the investigation captured the machine being driven through the city in the early morning hours before the theft was reported.
Investigators say the loader was observed travelling westbound on Hardin Street at approximately 2:30 a.m. on May 6.
The stolen machine is described as a black and yellow 2015 John Deere front loader equipped with a snow blade attachment.
RCMP have not released a suspect description and are continuing to investigate.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen the loader, has information about its whereabouts or witnessed suspicious activity in the area to come forward.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Wood Buffalo RCMP at 780-788-4000 or 310-RCMP.
