FORT McMURRAY — Arts Council Wood Buffalo has elected its board of directors for 2026-27 following its annual general meeting and a community panel discussion focused on the region’s arts landscape.
The organization welcomed Brandon Fleury and Brian Fung as new members of its board.
Returning directors include Nabil Malik, Will Collins, Luie Raczynski, Celia Macdonald, Clay Fadden, Anna Pottie, Ashley Brockway, Jeffory Magson and Dawn Booth.
The board was announced following the council’s annual general meeting and a panel discussion titled Making in Our Shared Landscape.
Arts Council Wood Buffalo is a non-profit society and registered charity that supports artists, arts organizations and cultural development throughout the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
The organization works to build capacity within the arts sector, foster collaboration among artists and community groups, and advocate for the arts at the municipal, provincial and federal levels.
According to the organization, its mission is to build a thriving community through the arts while supporting a vision of a creatively empowered Wood Buffalo.
Arts Council Wood Buffalo’s strategic priorities include organizational transformation, financial sustainability and strengthening connections across sectors.
The organization says it is working to grow collaboration within the arts community, increase access to resources for artists and strengthen recognition of the arts as an important contributor to community well-being and quality of life.
