FORT MCMURRAY — The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo is seeking feedback from local businesses as it looks for ways to reduce the impact of municipal construction projects on day-to-day operations.
The municipality has launched a public engagement process inviting business owners and operators across the region to share their experiences with construction projects and suggest ways to better support businesses affected by future work.
Municipal officials say construction can affect customer access, business visibility, parking availability, traffic flow and daily operations.
The engagement follows previous consultations with industry professionals and research into municipal practices from across Canada. The current phase is focused on identifying business needs and exploring options to reduce disruptions during future municipal construction projects.
Businesses can participate by completing a one-minute online poll or a more detailed five-minute survey.
The municipality says feedback gathered through the process will help inform recommendations to council and identify opportunities to strengthen policies, practices and supports for businesses affected by construction activity.
The engagement is open until July 31.
